Can a CEO also be a true Yogi?

Can you be a badass, super successful CEO and also be a peaceful, loving yogi?

My answer is a massive yes.

I actually think you can’t have one without the other. I’m defining success as long-term, sustainable leadership that reaps continued success and abundance.

We often think that CEOs are hard-hitting, cut throat, “gotta take advantage of people to get to the top” type of people. And conversely that yogis are passive, wishy-washy pushovers without the ability to make a concrete plan.

In reality, the qualities that make long-term successful CEOs or leaders are decisiveness, vision, clear communication and the ability to defuse conflict (rather than fuel the fire), just to name a few.

Similarly, these are many of the qualities we develop as yogis. Yogis practice discernment for YEARS, attempting to understand the truth without attachment, and so when a decision needs to be made or an action taken, they can do it from a deep understanding of all circumstances and crystal clear knowledge. The same goes for developing a vision. Yogis know how to manage their egos, and so there are no obstacles or distractions in the way of communicating with clarity. Lastly, yogis study and practice non-violence and evenness, which always contributes to managing conflict productively.
