“Heading into my work with Maria, I had been battling some tough chronic health issues. I also was in a relatively new job, having recently moved on to a new opportunity after three
years in a role where a 70-80 hour work week was par for the course. This new role was one
with a lot of white space to chart my own course and invent my own work. And after three years of *the grind*, where my success was measured in part by how much I worked, and quite a few bouts of burnout, that freedom and zero gravity environment was a little terrifying.
Now, I feel more confident in decision-making at work and have confidence that I know what I’m doing. I feel more prepared to have tough conversations. Importantly, I know that it’s ok to take the space I need away from work… and I know that I can reach my personal goals without overworking (an urban legend in the advertising world!).
I’m proud to say I’ve created an opportunity for myself that aligns with my North Star and achieves a goal I’d set: stepping away from agency life and into marketing on the ‘client-side.’ I’m looking forward to the growth, discovery and opportunity ahead.”
