Your Busy Schedule vs. Scheduling Yourself

Here’s the deal - there will ALWAYS be too many things pulling at your schedule. UNTIL, you decide which things you’ll allow to be pulled. In my opinion, this is an extreme self-care practice.

Scheduling is the semantics of what Mary Oliver says about “what will you do with your one wild and precious life?” What you say yes to and what you say no to is literally YOUR ONE PRECIOUS LIFE.

A couple questions -

  • Why wouldn’t you give yourself EXTRA time and uninterrupted time for your most important goal?

  • Why wouldn’t you say no to LOTS of things in order to live your WILDEST dream life?

  • Why wouldn’t you spend a little less time on the things that you know don’t matter to you so that you can spend more time on or with the things and people who do?

I think at the core of crazy, unruly schedules is actually uncertainty about what is important to us. If we knew what was MOST IMPORTANT to us, then saying no and making decisions about where to be at what time would become SIMPLE. Ask yourself -

  • WHAT is most important to me?

  • WHO is most important to me?

When you know that, you won’t be “busy” anymore.

I help my clients identify their WHO and WHAT so they can make more impact at work in less time without stress and anxiety. Send me a message on the “Contact” page to set up a free consultation call to see if this work is right for you.
